Most hot sauce brands look like every other Shopify template on the internet. Generic. Forgettable. Slow. Cole needed the opposite: a site that matched the product’s energy, converted browsers into buyers, and didn’t force him into the usual Shopify theme prison.
I didn’t drag and drop a theme. I hard-coded the entire front end from scratch.
Full custom build. GitHub for every version. Vercel for instant, global deployment. Multiple rounds of ruthless iteration until the experience felt tight. Then I wired it to Shopify’s headless checkout so the brand kept the best backend in e-commerce while owning every pixel of the customer experience.
Result: a fast, on-brand storefront that looks and feels nothing like a typical Shopify store, yet still checks out like one.
Design & Development: Built a custom front end that hits hard. Clean navigation. Strong product story. Social proof that actually converts. Zero template bloat.
Version Control & Staging: Everything lived in GitHub. Clean history. Instant previews. No “wait, which version is live?” nonsense.
Deployment: Pushed to Vercel. Fast load times. Automatic previews on every change. Zero ops headaches.
Iteration: Went through multiple rounds of feedback and polish on layout, mobile, copy, and conversion flow until it was sharp.
Headless Commerce: Connected Shopify Checkout through the official headless developer tools. Front end stays fully custom. Checkout stays rock-solid Shopify.
Why This Matters
Most agencies would have slapped a theme on it and called it a day. I built something that actually elevates the brand. The site now does what a great product site should: tells the story, builds desire, removes friction, and gets people to the checkout without fighting the design.
Fast. Premium. On-brand. Convertible.
That’s the difference between a store that exists and a store that sells.
